My trip to Kampot on 10 December 2007
Kampot province is a certain dream land resort for tourists to get true feeling of Cambodia, which is located just 148 km from Phnom Penh, along the national road 3. Kompot has some special point to make it become an interesting resort. First of all, this province is famous for seafood and fresh fruit. For example, durian, milk-fruit, lancet, golden plum. Khmer fruit are not chemically treated. Even though the outer skin may not look pretty, the inside of the fruit remains naturally sweet and tasty. Next, the important place is waterfall, Toeuk Chhou. On the arrival, we are greeted by many stalls by the road selling all sorts of food stuff and fruits. The water in this rocky stream is crystal clear and cold. The other one is Bokor Mountain resort. It is well known in Cambodia. This resort was found in 1920s and famous since 1960s. It is used to be the Khmer Rouge stronghold during the civil war in Cambodia. Nowadays, the ruins of former casino, villa, hotel and church are still remains as resort for visitors, and they can enjoy the fresh air on the top of that mountain. The last one is island. There are several island in Kampot that we spent time around 30mn to reach there, they are so beautiful and fresh air. In short, all of these are the special point that makes Kamport an interesting resort.

According to the final part of it, Kong Rei died and her body turned into the mountain which lies across the river in Kampong Chhnang, so this mountain looks like a prone woman. My team to Kirirom resort on 19 August 2007
My holiday was at Kirirom Resort. After completed Course at IFL, my classmates and I had created a holiday together. At first, we did not know where we should go because there were a lot of places for our alternatives, but at last we decided to choose Kirirom Resort for our destination. This holiday was not only for students, but we also invited our lecturers to join with, so in total we had 16 member. On August 19, 2007, we left at 7:30 AM after gathering together at IFL. It was so noisy in the car because of the sound of talking and laughing heartily for fun. Not so long, our journey reached the point. Everyone felt so fresh to see the natural landscape which is beautiful with green view and the sound of waterfall. After finding the comfortable place for relaxes, some students had a general talk with teachers, and others reserved food for lunch. At noon we enjoyed a huge meal together, and it was really delicious. After that, we could not forget the beautiful environment, so some people went to take a lot of photographs with different style and view; another also enjoyed themselves with waterfall. Then we still had time to be together by creating some games for fun until late in the afternoon that was the time for coming back. My team on Culture Day March 29, 2008 at IFL
In Cambodia, the way of greeting and the use of respect languages play as an important role. Greetings are always initiated by the younger person when seeing an elder or meet others in the first time; otherwise, it would be rude because this way is the main part of Khmer respectful tradition. Our custom offers greeting with hands in front of face-palms together in prayer-like fashion, in Khmer called Sampeah. In contrast, western people always hug, kiss or shake hand as their habit. In addition, most Asian societies use respect language for communication. They have many forms of speeches which depend on age, sex and social status with whom they are talking. Also, there are some other polite behavior of Khmer people which could make western interested in. Khmer people always accept something with both hands from elder or respectful persons, and also lower the body gesture for walking through while they are sitting. For instance, Cambodian students always give or get something from teacher with both hands to show that teacher is the respect person. Moreover, Asians do not allow someone to touch on the head because they regard it as a sacred part of the body; whereas, the western people think that it is just a simple behavior in their culture. Furthermore, it is alright for two friends (male and male, or female and female) to hold hands in public in Cambodia. Actually, they are not gay as in homosexual; therefore, they are just good friends. In contrast, western people believe that only homosexual or gay would do such kind of this thing in public.

As the impact of noise pollution is widespread, it is important for everyone in cooperation to mitigate. Noise pollution can be controlled by a number of measures. The first approach has been reduce noise at source by design and fabrication of silencing devices and their use in aircraft engines, truck, cars, motorcycles, industrial machines and home appliances. Aircraft noise can be reduced to some extent by design of quieter jet engines. This strategy has brought limited but noticeable reduction of urban sound levels. Similarly, there are a variety of strategies for mitigating roadway noise by use of noise barriers, imitation of vehicle speeds, alteration of roadway surface texture, limitation of heavy duty vehicles, use of traffic controls that smooth vehicle flow to reduce braking and acceleration as well as tire design. Furthermore, exposure of workers to industrial noise can be provided through wearing devices such as earplugs and earmuffs; changes include redesign of industrial equipment, shock mounting assemblies and physical barriers in the work place. Another measure is control of indoor noise, whereas outdoor noises levels have been high. Therefore, the following methods can be applied for reducing their effect by locate in the building as far as possible from noise source, and trees and shrubs maybe planted in front of building to provide some absorption for the sound. Also, it is important to educate people through radio, television, newsreels in cinema halls about noise pollution. In the family, elders can teach children to keep the radio volume low, lowing voice talking not to horn unnecessarily on the roads, avoiding quarreling each other and so on especially there should be complete ban of loudspeakers from 8 pm to 7 am.

The result of noise existence from sources above is being bothersome on human lives as well as the whole environment. Noise can result in damage to human health and well-being in a number of ways including annoyance reaction, sleep disturbance, interference with communication, performance effects, effect on social behavior and decrease in hearing ability. For instance, research into the effect of noise on human health indicates a variety of heath effect. People experiencing high noise levels, especially around airports or along road/rail corridors, differ from those with less noise exposure. Related to the survey of scientific with fairly consistent evidence that prolonged exposure to noise levels at or about 80 decibels can cause deafness to the people who live in those places were polluted by the noise. The amount of deafness depends up on the degree of exposure. Additionally, exposure to noise is also associated with a range of mental health effects. Those noises can cause annoyance and frustration consequence of interference, interruption and distraction that can lead to irritability, stress, fatigue and other symptoms. Apart from being disturbance on human, noise also pollutes the environment. It can have a detrimental effect on animals by causing stress, in creasing risk of mortality by changing the delicate balance in prey detection and avoidance by interfering with their use of sound in communication especially in relation to reproduction and in navigation. Scientifics consider that the animals can have stress like the human through influence of the loud voice to make them run away from noisy place for sometimes.

In our lives, we can see that noises are created by human activities and everything around. The main cause of noise world wide is transportation system including road traffic, air traffic and rail traffic. Road accounts for approximately 70% of total noise emissions by transportation. It must be noted that different road transportation modes have different scales of noise emission. For this factor, noise comes from the engine and the friction of wheels over the road surface. Also, air has been the cause of considerable concern which is about 20%. When taking off, it can provide noise about 120 decibels that is the high levels of noise. This noise comes from the jet engine, the aerodynamic friction and ground craft operations. In addition, the remaining percentage of total noise emissions by transportation is covered by rail traffic coming from the engine (mostly diesels), the friction of wheels over the rails and whistle blowing. In fact, when trains are moving at high speed, areoacoustic noise becomes more important than other sources. Beside that, Industrial machinery is another cause of noise pollution resulted in residential communities. For example, machines in the factory are running during working hours for manufacture. Thus, the longer you work the more you hear from the machineries. Also, noise pollution is caused by construction of buildings and infrastructure. Noise usually comes from trucks and equipments which are used to establish new building. Moreover, both domestic and neighborhood are the other significant sources of noise including barking dog, car alarms, garbage recycling, lawn-mowers and household noise. Among these, noise from barking dogs is particular concern because it is unpredictable and often happens repeatedly.

World wide, in developed and developing countries, environmental problems are among the most important concerns facing people and their governments. The problems include population growth, loss of ecosystem and species extinction, urbanization, deforestation, solid waste disposal, and pollution of water, air, land and noise disturbance. Among all of these factors, noise pollution is often a serious environmental problem in urban areas.
