Kampong Chhnang province located in the Tonlesap region of Cambodia, along the National road 5 and about 91 km from Phnom Penh. Many people believe that it is the most beautiful of Cambodian provinces because of its green paddy fields, rivers and palm-trees as far as the eyes can see. In addition, more than 85% of the province’s population is involved in fishing, rice growing as well as pottery producing. With the position in the Tonlesap area, this province is famous for lobsters, dried fishes, smoked fishes and Khmer Cheese. Besides, it has a special place to visit called Kong Rei Mountain, which is one of the most visited places in Kampong Chhnang province. This mountain is known from the legend, Puthisen Neang Kong Rei. According to the final part of it, Kong Rei died and her body turned into the mountain which lies across the river in Kampong Chhnang, so this mountain looks like a prone woman. In brief, all of these are the impression of Kampong Chhang province.
